Greetings from Europe! (pt. 11)

The weather is getting really cold here in Jersey. Today the high is 55°F so i’ll be layering like crazy. I love the cold (unless it’s windy). :) Anyway, this will be my last Europe post; sad, i know, right? But I’ve condensed both my Berlin outfits into this last post. Enjoy!

Greetings from Europe! (pt.7)

Not much of an update, college is alright. I hung out with one of my high school friends who just transferred from her old college; it was pretty awesome :) Anyway, more Europe pictures! (do they never end??)

Day 6: Vienna, Austria

007I was pretty damn tired that day (since I took a night train from Vienna) so I put little effort into my outfit. It was comfortable and at that point comfort was all that mattered. Hopefully the accessories made up for the simplicity (I seemed to love that belt in Europe ever since I bought it, huh?)

040080gorgeous palace. i love this picture because i captured the clear reflection. :)
cutting this one short because i’m exhausted.

until next time, jen

Greetings from Europe! (pt.5)

so it’s been about two weeks at college and it’s a lot different than last year. i’ve met a bunch of the freshmen on the floor and the ones i’ve met so far are awesome. i have to admit it’s nice being a sophomore instead of a freshman ;)

i’m currently taking a honors seminar called Physics and Photography and I had to buy a manual camera (Promaster) that i’m still figuring out how to use. On Sunday I have to develop my own negatives and I’m pretty damn scared. Especially loading the film from the camera into the light tight canister in pitch black darkness. wish me luck! :)

Now to continue on with my Europe Trip (I still have so many more outfits to go!)

Day 4 (Night): Venice, Italy

The second part of my fourth day was spent in Venice. We got there in the evening and the sun was setting. Our hotel room had a view of the grand canal and it was just absolutely breathtaking.

Pisa, Florence, Venice 157

view from my hotel room

Out of all the cities I went to in Europe, Venice was definitely my favorite. Venice was even more gorgeous during the night time. St. Mark’s square was full of gondolas, soft lighting, live classical music, and couples walking hand in hand and stealing kisses from one another. Even my brother had to admit that Venice was one of the most romantic places on earth. :)

Pisa, Florence, Venice 229the shot above isn’t that amazing since i was in a hurry to get the father with his child dancing to the live music. :)

looking gross on the rialto bridge :)

looking gross on the rialto bridge :)

and i’ll end with a picture of the grand canal from the rialto bridge. why are night pictures so difficult to take? practice makes perfect i guess.

Greetings from Europe! (pt.4)

college has been awesome so far. my classes are pretty awesome (i’m already starting to procrastinate), i have fridays off (thank god) and i’m meeting a bunch of new people. i hope it stays this fabulous :)

i’m going out in a little while to a frat party (not my favorite) with two of my favorite boys on the floor. we have a pretty bad ratio but i know someone who’s an ultimate creeper who will let us in ;) now continuing with europe!

Day Four: Florence, Italy

Pisa, Florence, Venice 139standing on the ponte vecchio bridge. it was super crowded and most of the stores were jewelry stores. the morning sunlight made for some gorgeous photos:
Pisa, Florence, Venice 114i saw a few people painting the bridge a distance away. it looked so relaxing. sometimes i wish i could just wake up, sit next to a river, and paint all morning :)

Pisa, Florence, Venice 110this pose isn’t natural haha. i was copying a statue outside of the uffizi gallery (not pictured). the line was really long so i snapped a shot or two. florence is such a lovely city.

until next time!

Greetings from Europe! (pt.3)

so classes started today and i just got back from my first class: introduction to world literature. it seems pretty interesting and not too boring but only time will tell right? i know a few people in that class so i’m pretty excited. i have human ecology in a few hours with one of my old friends so that’ll be interesting despite the subject. :)

now time to continue my european diary :)

Day 3: Pisa & Florence

pisa is gorgeous, let me just say that. seeing everything in person versus seeing something through your own eyes are two completely different feelings.
Pisa, Florence, Venice 008Pisa, Florence, Venice 036the humidity in italy didn’t do much for my hair. can anyone say sun damage? i should really use some kind of spf leave-in conditioner.
Pisa, Florence, Venice 027hellooooo mr. leaning tower of pisa. or would it be ms. leaning tower?

next we took a short train to florence which is a really beautiful city. a lot of stores, perfect for shopping (although i didn’t shop due to the male members of my family). :)
Pisa, Florence, Venice 057there’s a booty shot for you guys. i got to break in my converses from all of the walking. i’m not one to take good care of anything material so my shoes got pretty dirty. at least i didn’t fall into a puddle of mud (which i tend to do in heels).
Pisa, Florence, Venice 058Pisa, Florence, Venice 062above is the beautiful Palazzo Vecchio; it used to be a huge meeting area back in the day where annoucements would be given. i saw the copy of the infamous David. if you look closely in the picture you can see David looking oh-so-handsome in the shadows.
Pisa, Florence, Venice 102one last note: why are trees in italy so freaking gorgeous??? new jersey has plenty of trees, but none like the ones in italy.

until next time, jen
